I was able to get both working, but there were some differences.  Oracle's
driver required setting up an Oracle Service for MTS [a seperate service for
each database - I think it was].  Microsoft, instead, uses the XA protocol
to do the 2-phase commits from COM+ to Oracle.

I know I found some articles on the MS MSDN surrounding hooking up COM+ and
Oracle [using the MS Provider for Oracle], but again, this was 8i.  The
architecture may have been changed for 9i.  If you wanted to use Oracle's,
they deferred you to the Oracle docs.

I have done this using Oracle 8.1.7 and COM+ under Win2K SP1.  It was a real
pain, but was doable.  First off, I don't know what may have changed
architecturally from 8i to 9i, so take this with a grain of salt.

The key problem I had when configuring my COM+ server to work with Oracle
was that the various COM+/MTS related services needed to be running under
with a valid domain identity.  When running as localsystem, things would not
connect up.  I found quite a bit of information on the Oracle Partners site
[under the 8i Windows documentation].  I would imagine the 9i docs for
windows should be available.  Like most other things on the Oracle site,
however, you'll probably have to dig for a while to find it.
