Hi All, I've got a weird problem that I'm hoping someone's seen before. We've got about 15 components running in COM+ with an ASP front end. Every few hours the components fall over with ASP giving the error "". To get them working again involved either shutting down the COM+ application or a reboot. If the COM+ MMS is left open we're able to shut down the application ok and then everything comes back to life. If we've closed the MMC then trying to open it give us the error: "Unable to start application because (DacCom) is not installed properly. Please reinstall this product.". We've spent quite a lot of time trying to find out what's causing this but so far have been unable to track it down. We've got customers who are using this code on other systems and they're getting the same thing so I'm guessing it's not anything to do with our setup. We're not sure whether this is happening at random points or is caused but a specific action. Another weird side effect is that durring the period when the components can't be access we're unable to get into the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE part of the registry. This means that a host of other applications (e.g Notepad) fail too. Can anyone Help? Please.. ? We are distributing our com+ components as MSI Package. We have created the package using Install Shield. So while installing our application it will install the components using the MSI package. Its getting registered in the registry and it works fine. But while we uninstall the software its not removing the registry entries of our components. Some times it over writes and some times it doenst (registry keys) . How can i solve this problem. Is there anything to do with package script or ? Thx and Regards Manikandan You can read messages from the VBCOM archive, unsubscribe from VBCOM, or subscribe to other DevelopMentor lists at http://discuss.develop.com.
