Slow response opening remote file

I’m using windows 8 with a i7 chip and solid state drive on a laptop.  It
is unbelievably fast.  One application is unbelievably slot: ECCO.  This
has never happened before even with XP.  The master is on another computer
on the network and on that computer (which is also W8 &SSD) it opens
unbelievably fast.  On my remote laptop when on the wired network, it can
take several minutes to open.  Has anyone experienced this and have you
found a remedy.  Blessings,   Will



ps: about to get a Lenovo Thinkpad 2 and plan to put ECCO on it.  Can’t
wait to stop using the iPad on customer consultation visits.
