Hello,

After watching the video, I decided to make another attempt to get a full
installation of EccoProX. In the past I had program compatibility issues in
W7 and was never able to get the scrolling working as advertised.

So this time I did a Repair/Install first to attempt to update the prior
version which had been installed under XP compatibility as that was the only
way that the program would run in a couple of prior attempts over the past
year.

And that still wasn't enough as after an install, W7 still wanted to run it
under XP mode. So, I used the special downloadable uninstall tools in the
customer download area. Directions weren't all that clear but apparently I
got enough done with those tools to proceed to new territory.

When I installed clean this time, I had to put the license codes back in
but this time instead of going with the default XP compatibility, I chose
the option to provide more permissions. That finally got an install where I
got a screen asking if the system could run the extensions. And when I go
to the Help/About tab/option, I now see the extensions showing up.

Well the scroll wheel still didn't work, so I downloaded the Freewheel
software found in the customer/services download area. And voila, I now
have the full extended version and scrolling.

There may be easier ways to get everything to work but I never found them
before. Hope this helps someone else who had given up as I had.

One little note was that on the first time I ran the program, it took
several minutes to start with all sorts of checks done by W7. Further, my
virus software (Mcafee) complained about a Trojan being found and requested
a re-start to clean the virus. I did that and the program again took
several minutes to load and still requires me to acknowledge that its OK to
load the extensions even though I'm starting Ecco with Admin privileges.
Subsequent loads seem more normal; maybe a little slower than the 32 bit
version but the execution seems even snappier than before. So I'm a happy
user again and with never before Scrolling capability which I use a lot with
long and multi-level Notepads.

Frank
