I have installed and run EccoPro 4.01 many times under both Wine and
(when necessary) Crossover, but not on a Mac or any other proprietary OS
other than the overpriced and over-rated group of OS's produced,
purchased or copied and sold by Micro$oft (3.1, 95, 98, Millenium, XP, 7
& 8).

In fact, I find that Ecco runs much better (it's more stable and trouble
free) under GNU/Linux distros than on Windows itself.

First you have to install it.  If Wine works, use that.

So install Wine from winehq.org (on Linux, a Package Manager like
Synaptic or Apper is used to install a version of Wine proven to work
with your system).  Also, many GNU/Linux distros have very active forums
to help sove these and other problems) and I'm sure you could run one or
more on your Mac.

But if Wine and Crossover work with OSX (or whatever you have) you could
try that first.

After installing Wine, you should obtain a menu that includes "Wine
Windows Program Loader" when right clicking on an .exe or .msi file.

On some distros the ecco installation file hags while searching for
installed components.  If that happens (be patient, to be sure), then
use Crossover.

After installing it, an icon or listing for Ecco should appear in you
Wine or Crossover Windows Programs Menu and if not, go to the ecco.exe
program file and run it manually.  The same goes for katmouse, so you
can scroll with ecco.

Try it and tell me what happens.
