Don't want to pour gasoline on your OS flame war, but just have to speak up in defense of Windows.  A brief comment and that's all I will say on the topic.

I love Windows and have used it both professionally as an IT manager and personally for decades.  The laptop I am on right now has been running Windows XP flawlessly with heavy use for years and I can't remember the last time I had an OS problem.  When I bought it it cost maybe 30% less than the Apple laptop alternative.  The Windows third party application base is the largest of any OS.  This not only tells something about how popular the OS is and how many people choose it, but it is often a critical difference as you can find all kinds of variations of software in any category to do specific things that often cannot be found with other OSs.

I've used various Linux flavors and Mac OS.  Both are great and serve a purpose.  All three have their strengths and weaknesses.  But I think as an overall one size fits all, well rounded operating system that can be appropriate for everyday users, geeks, small business, corporate IT or enterprise computing, Windows has no rival.
