Your love of Windows doesn't change the dishonest nature and business
practices of Bill Gates (which have been well documented, historically)
or the shoddy performance of the OS compared to other more viable
options, which I myself use and prefer for both reasons:  The culture,
the community and the results: A faster and more stable system.

Gate's purchase of the QD (Quick and Dirty) Operating System (a blatant,
pirated copy of Gary Kildall's CP/M) from Seattle Software (which he
then marketed to IBM) marked the beginning of his mercenary, unethical
career and your love of Windows is your problem, not anyone else's.

Gates was then contracted by IBM to develop OS/2 and stalled long enough
to develop the buggy Win 95 and maintain control of a market IBM created
for him.

Whether you care about any of this is your business, but doesn't alter
the historical facts sustaining my remarks.  And Jobs was another
marketer. Neither nearly provided as much as Tim Berners-Lee or Richard
Stallman to further society, which may or may not be of interest to Ecco
users, or help anyone wanting to run Ecco on Crossover.
