Unhandled registry error (CFO) again

I  am a long standing user of Ecco - although I only use it for time recording.   I have had it installed (without a problem) on my Windows 7 machine but today (after installing a whole set of Windows upgrades),  it now get the above message.
 I have Googled around and seen suggestions that Ecco Ext (which I don't use at the moment) would resolve this.   Any way, I downloaded it and installed it as suggested but still got the same message when I tried to run Ecco Ext..
 I then tried (or saw suggested somewhere) running Ecco Ext as an Administrator) and this then worked Ok.
 I then went back to just running Ecco as Administrator and this also worked
 I then tried the Troubleshoot option and this changed the parameters for Ecco.exe to XP SP2.     And I selected, the 'Run as Administrator' option.
 It now runs Ok but does prompt me that the program is about to change Windows settings every time I run i now which is irritating but liveable with.
 Any suggestions for fully resolving this, please.
