As I mentioned, I've been an Ecco user a while and the first version or
two came on floppy disks.
I would like to know: Just how big is your .eco file? How many
megabytes is it? (Mine is over 21 Mb. Is your a lot bigger than that)?
When I still used Windoze I recalled having to rename the ecco.alm file
more than once, so that windoze would create a new one after the
original became corrupted.
Now that I run Ecco on 64 bit versions of Linux (Debian, Arch and
openSUSE) under wine, I haven't had to do that, so I wasn't sure if
those files existed or not on my system. Therefore I used SpaceFM File
Search to search on *.alm and these is where that file (along with the
cfx file) is located:
./.wine/drive_c/windows
You may already know that Linux file systems don't have a C drive. They
don't have to - Wine provides that, so you can run Windows applications
on Linux - unless you're a glutton for punishment (a masochist).
Just a Linux user's opinion, of course.
Good luck and one more thing: If you're going to install another
operating system, don't stick with more of the same - try a real one.
