Re: memory condition too low

Seem you still have some free space, so there should be some other reason for the error message.          
           
There is another limit worth to be checked – the folder limit. Each folder may have only a certain number of items depending on the folder type:          
           
Number 10,895          
Text 16,384          
Date 16,384          
CheckMark 32,768          
PopUp 16,332          
           
I don’t know how to check these limits in the original Ecco settings.           
           
If you could start eccoext and open your file there you would see the number of items in each folder.          
           
If eccoext is not an option for any reason, there are some other ways, though not so convenient.           
           
Meanwhile, try to notice which one of your files causes the error and in which circumstances, knowing that will make further work much easier.

I ran the file you recommended on each Ecco file, i.e., one file at a time, and I got the results shown below. I noticed that each reported results has an asterisk but its position may vary.

I don't see any number that is equal to or exceeds t 65,000+ mentioned in the explanation. Any thoughts?

Yes. It’s easy. You can download EM Memory Reporter. Open your file in Ecco and run Memory Reporter, it shows you four figures. First three shows how much is used for some resources: Items, View Lines, Pointers and the fourth shows what’s left for the most used one (marked by *).

    Probably, it has nothing to do with the alarms. Alarms pop up irrespective whether the file containing the events associated with the alarms is open or not, so you may try first to open Ecco without any files or with one file, and open other files after dealing with the mutual alarms.

    Probably, there is no need to close any other application running, Low memory condition is an internal Ecco problem and it has nothing to do with total memory available on your computer.

    Also probably is does not depend on the file size as such, just on the number of items in the file (or the number of items shown in all Ecco views for a given file).

    One way to deal with the problem would be to notice which one of your files causes the trouble - try closing you files one by one, before closing Ecco, and then deal with that file.

    I have several Ecco files including large files. When I launch the program, numerous alarms have to be dealt with, i.e., leave them alone or snooze them for a future time. 



    Sometimes when I finish with that procedure and I click to Close, it reports that it couldn't do anything with them due to low memory condition. This concerns me greatly. 



    I have tried to avoid the problem by closing any large applications that are running. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. 



    I am concerned that I am losing those alarms. 



    I am running the basic Ecco application because the last time I installed the Eccoext update, I got a weird result.



    Any thoughts?
