FWIW, I've been using something called eM Client in Windoze. It seems able to handle gmail, hotmail, and yahoo mail without issues.  It also syncs my calendars and contacts successfully, something that I've had trouble doing with Thunderbird (the calendars, that is) .... probably because I'm too lazy to dig into it and figure it out myself.  :-)

I know that it works in Windows 7 and WIndows 8.1.  Not using WIndows 10 - Microsoft wants to know too much about me in that release, even when I tell them not to.
