The system I settled on years ago was to use Outlook and X! search.  The way it works for me is I write what the task is I need to accomplish  in ECCO and then indent. 


 I then highlight the email listing in Outlook and copy and paste into ECCO.  It looks like this below.  Three lines. I usually delete the first two lines to save space.



Then when I need to reference the email again I grab either the from email or, more usually, the subject line and put them into the X1 email search.  That usually brings the email I need right up.
