Hi Friedhelm; We are using different terms for the "something" that processes the bitmap icons inside Ecco. We'll need to come up with the right universal term. What do you suggest we call the "something" that processes graphics inside Ecco? We also have different beliefs on what Ecco+EE can and cannot use for Icons. I have been working on icons for EverEcco in Photoshop for the last several days and can report with 100% certainty - in fact I just ran the test again to be sure i didn't screw up again - that Ecco rejects 8bit RGB (non-indexed) bitmap icon files and displays perfectly the 256 color indexed version of the same 8 bit files ( "toolbar_ee.bmp" and "icon_ee.bmp"). From memory a few days ago, Ecco was also rejecting 16bit RGB graphics files. My reference to the GIF format was not meant to confuse. Ecco accepts only the original uncompressed bitmap "bmp" format, not the compressed "gif" format. The GIF or "Graphics Image Format" spec includes lossless LZW compression whereas BMP images are 1 to 1 uncompressed. However, the GIF format and the BMP format which Ecco accepts have both the 8bit word length and the 256 Indexed color scheme in common. I'll have some screen shots and icon files soon on this. New Ecco Icons for everyone! :) -Mark
