low memory condition choking Ecco - need help fast

I run standard Ecco on my main computer because I couldn't get EE working after I paid money for it last year
 

 Recently I would review my alarms and when I closed the window it reported a low memory condition and I assume that nothing saved
 

 Today, it got much worse. It got to the point that it wouldn't even let me access to my Ecco files. 
 

 I do have some large Ecco files and I have perhaps thousands of alarms set over the years. If my problem is due to a limit on the size of the alarm file or the number of alarms it can contain, is there a way to easily delete old alarms that are no longer needed?
 

 This condition occurred today even after restarting the computer and launching Ecco before any other program.
