how to I use my eccopro with today's email services like gmail

Hello
I have used Ecco for a while but have never figured out how to use it with
today's email services like Gmail or outlook mail. I dont have an email
handler but am prepared to installed MS outlook from MS office if I knew
how to have EccoPro work with Outlook; Can someone briefly tell me how to
do it, or point me to a link that discusses this (as it likely is not a new
question).
