Re: Ecco Pro and InfoQube. A follow up

You have to remember that development of native Ecco stopped in 1997.  A lot of people didn't even have email then.  Netmanage (Ecco's developer at the time) did have a (sort of companion) email client called Zmail Pro that shipped with Ecco as I recall (I still have mine somewhere).  But the integration is very crude and didn't get very far before development stopped.  I assume the plan was to eventually create better integration.

Under Tools/Options you'll find some settings to set up an email client, but the choices are old and I don't know if any of them will work with newer clients.

One interesting feature related to email though is the ability to export file changes and synchronize files by email.  Search "email" in the native Ecco help file for more info on that.

Also, shouldn't be too difficult to be able to launch your email client's compose window through Ecco with a little help from an EE link or a script...probably even with the send to field filled in from Ecco data.  Of course launching the email client itself while in Ecco should be even easier.  So it's not really any kind of real "integration," but you can do some things to make it smoother to access your email client while working in Ecco.

I do agree though ... having strong email integration in this kind of program is critical today.
