Its been a while for me too... so these answers are based on hazy memories

Yes, i think I used to have a special folder in My Documents that stored
"Ecco Stuff" - when I got the synchronization going, I pointed it at
this folder and that was that.

I think when you first open the synchronized file, an option popped up
asking me if I wanted to make alarms active on that computer. I think I
usually said yes, but I also think that once you encountered an alarm
and responded to it, that would then sync back to the file on the other
computer. I don't recall this being an issue.
Hope that helps. I also think I once had a help file I wrote up that was
in our forum file section. You might want to see if it is still there.
