There really has not been a newer Ecco. Compusol just tweaked the 
installation of the original. What is new is EccoExt by Slang, which has 
fixed some bugs and added incredible customization power and more. I 
doubt you will find a PIM as powerful as Ecco. But if you don't need the 
power, there are doubtless other options that you will likely be happy 
with. You can search this listserv for past discussion of other PIMs. I 
run by law practice with it. Every now an then I spend more time futzing 
with it than I like, but it saves me a lot more time and tears than I 
spend on it.
