Thanks for your help.

I was able to use the EM trick to "reduce your 'Total ID count" .

But I could only do it with a single item (each item has multiple lines).

My main folder has 323 items (with multiple lines).

How would I select the entire folder's items and convert each to a single item,

instead of doing each one, one at a time?

They talk about 'marking' items to do them in batch mode.

But I don't know how to mark these folder items.

My menu for items only shows:

-Mark as done

-Mark as private

I am not sure how much of the functionality for the eccoMAGIC! classic

add on got included with Slang's EccoExt. I was using eccoMAGIC!

before Slang's extension so I get a little confused about what is

what. Anyway, if you do not need discrete entries, you can enter text

in blocks and save on your Total ID Count. You might want to look at

this.

There was an example somewhere that showed how much data you could

cram into Ecco without coming close to overloading it. But I could not

find the example I was looking for. I think it was a dump of the

ecco_pro listserv postings from all of time.

Anyway, I think Ecco is capable of doing what you want to do; you just

might need to use different strategies.

Also, I encourage you to try EccoExt. I know I was leery at first, but

I can't see any downside to using it. --Chris Holly
