I should add that C# can be used to make COM components, and it's much easier with C# than C++ even if you are an experienced C++ developer.  


Also, check the stats.  C++ is growing, not dying.  Even Microsoft has switched to C++ after going heavy .net.  VS2010 is slow because it was made in .net, and VS2012 is fast because it was made in C++.

C++ sense was never as good as C# IntelliSense.  I suggest looking at VisualAssist.

One almost unrelated question, but this is the OT list, so :) Would Microsoft implement IntelliSense for C++ or this has already been done? I understand there aren't so many C++ developers these days (and I'm not an every day one either) but every now and then I have to create this or that COM component (yeah... :() and VS2010 drives me mad, especially since I'm so used to Resharper and IntelliJ Idea which both beat IntelliSense...
