RE: VS 2012

I don't get the Win8 hate.I really like the OS. It's as fast or faster than
Win7. I like the new Start Menu (and all the old KB shortcuts work). I think
it's a matter of moved cheese. Especially if the people complaining never
left XP.  I use VS2012 every day and it's a lot better than VS10.especially
for Web Dev.

I'm happy to see that Rick Strahl is tweeting that VS 2012 is working great
for him.  I have not used it yet, alas, I'm developing on an XP VM right
now. 

 

But I've downloaded it on my very old Dell Windows 8 machine, and actually
think it looks great, CAP MENUS and all.  I understand that text is sort of
being used to simulate buttons.  I really like the subtle texty Windows 8
design aesthetic.  

 

The bad news is that all my non tech friends are reporting that they are
hearing that Windows 8 is terrible.  That's the meme that's out there.
