Every editor I've used under any desktop environment in Linux does not handle the arrow keys on the numeric keypad (aka "Num Lock off") the same way that Windows does. So maybe this is an OS or DE issue rather than an editor issue? It's weird to me that a program would treat the arrow keys on the numeric keypad would work differently than the non-keypad arrow keys -- but then, I have trouble understanding why most people actually have a use for the numbers on the numeric keypad...
