Re: Windows 10: Cannot get PowerPro to Start Automatically

I'm running latest both 1700 and 1600 series of win 10 64 on my laptop/desktop  plus latest win 7 64; powerpro runs fine not as admin on all of them..  I always install using the setup program and without using any technique to run as admin. 

 Sorry that wording in install is not clear, but it is trying to say that powerpro does not need to run as admin (and I recommend you do not run as admin). 

 Ppro64 does not need to run as admin either and definitely cannot run as admin if powerpro.exe is not.  That error message is wrong.  I must have written it a long time ago when I still had a misunderstanding that ppro needed to run as admin.
 

 I have found that windows keeps a database of what exe's have been  set to run as admin and this seems to take priority over the actual exe setting.  Deleting the actual exe rather than just overwriting in an install may help.
 

 As always, make sure you are selecting the install option so that the pcf configuration  info is NOT in the exe folder.
 

  I  suggest  deleting the powerpro exe folder (leave your pcf folder but take a backup of it just in case).  Reboot.  Then re-install powerpro using setup.  However, select a different folder name for exe, such as powerpronew.  So the whole folder for exe will be "C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerPronew" 
 

 

  Keep the same folder name for pcf in install, just change the exe folder.  Make sure you select install option checkboxes to overwrite any existing shortcuts so that new shortcuts, including the one in startup, reflect new exe folder.

 

  Do not set anything to run as admin.
