If you want to continue to investigate: 

 How are you changing the colors of the menu?  If with command list properties, please let me know what colors, fonts, etc you have selected plus any other settings you have set that might affect look.
 

 (If you are using *skin -- sorry, I don't support that any more as almost all its features are available from config dialog).
 

 Have you got any Windows skiing software separate from PPro running?
