By the way, when you say "start twice" does that mean they start twice even if quit all not executed.  Same question for endif:  that is, do you get the error message regardless of whether quit all has run? 

 If so, that would be puzzling.  (It is also puzzling if there is a quit all, but that is the sort of puzzle I have had before).
 

 If no quit all and the offending scripts are short enough to post, I'd like to see them.
