I started using litestep because the themes looked alot better than your standard windows themes :) (i continued using it when i discovered it was so easy to create your own themes, I created one that I liked using and now the windows UI seems foreign, specifically my main gripe with the windows UI is not being able to customize the desktop context menu) ps. win7 works fine with LS for me, but I did have to use an up to date version (install via stable release then copy over files from latest version).
