There is the MTPad sample included with WTL that is just a basic editor like Notepad.


You might go to www.codeproject.com and search for "text editor".  There are quite a few good articles on editors with various capabilities.  The ones that do more (like CrystalEdit) are more complicated, so it depends on what you need.

I've recently been reading tutorials on a ground-up text editor called "Neatpad".  The articles are very interesting and informative:  http://www.catch22.net/node/15
