I'd hoped I'd pointed that out in my second paragraph. Mu apologies for 
not being clearer.

As I pointed out in my reply to your previous post. The product in 
question has gone through the evolution from Win16 through MFC to WTL 
and is currently at WTL v8.1. We would hardly have done that if we 
didn't think that WTL was a better option. Round here, we have to sound 
economic arguments for our decisions, and if those arguments don't hold 
up, they (and perhaps us) get the chop. I have, today, cut the first few 
lines for a new program. That program is part of the 3rd generation my 
mentioned in that reply. The new program is a pure WTL v8.1 program. The 
3rd generation app. relies on a pool of worker threads rather than 
OnIdle(). Evidence enough, I think, that we appreciate, and indeed rely 
on WTL.

Indeed we do. We have:
-  A library of specialised controls, that are appropriate to our
    market,
-  A rewritten version of DDX to facilitate those controls and their
    validation and bindings.
-  A config file management library that integrates with the DDX.
-  And an alternative OnIdle() system, as described, controlled from a
    compiler switch
All extension for the needs of products.

I must apologise for any offence I may have caused. My criticism was not 
of WTL per se, but of a very small design decision taken 'way back 
yonder'. That we've circumvented, for a very special legacy problem.
As they would say in these parts "Long live WTL and more power to 
Nenad's elbow".
