Re: Another teleconference partial edited transcript

There was a suggestion for Keith to setup another repository to do
his work and work with others interested in the code he was working
on. i.e. RENDER, Xc/Xr etc and submit patches to XFree86 at times
when that team feels they are mature enough for the majority to
test or for release to the wider world back to XFree86 for inclusion
similar to the way the DRI works.

This way, Keith gets to manage that project as he sees fit with Jim
also being able to direct that project and publish things that he
believes should be done to enhance X. Jim can still host his own
Wiki, website or whatever to build up people interested. Note that
the DRI also hosts it's own website and mailing list and has a focus
on 3D. So, it is known to work.

The DRI is a friendly fork that operates very well with XFree86, and
I know some feel it would work better if it were integrated, but it
does give the flexibility for the DRI developers for a complete sandbox
and give access to those wanting to develop new DRI drivers with it's
limited subset of the full XFree86 tree.

I think this is a great approach to solving all the issues and remaining
a single point of reference through the XFree86 Project.

I like to hear from the others that attended the teleconference,
including Keith and Jim on how they feel this approach fits.
