Now, I m facing a problem: When i run xinit, the default X server Xfree86 starts up. But if i try to run startx with the serverrc file specifying Xfbdev or the tiny X server, Xfbdev directly, i get the error message: Fatal Error : No screens found. I read somewhere that Xfbdev does not use the config file. If so, how do we specify which screen device and driver to use in case of Xfbdev? The wierd thing is that after once running xinit, if i kill the server and then run startx or Xfbdev, Xfbdev starts up. Why is that? How is Xfbdev able to find the screen in that case? Thanks and Regards, Ramya. ------=_Part_2389_2847646.1161672998420 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Hi,
I have built and installed XFree86-4.6.0 on an ARM based application board.
Now, I m facing a problem:
When i run xinit, the default X server Xfree86 starts up.

But if i try to run startx with the serverrc file specifying Xfbdev or the tiny X server, Xfbdev directly, i get the error message:
Fatal Error : No screens found.

I read somewhere that Xfbdev does not use the config file.
