What is stopping you from checking the weekly (or even daily) CVS tree
out and building it yourself ? You could even help in the
testing/bugreporting/fixing process, and make faster schedules easier.

If you want that, and really need it, nothing is stopping you from
getting it. If you want a proper package and distribution support (that
is someone making the hard work for you) then i question your real need
for a weeklyu CVS snapshot, and the distributions may not like that
anyway, at least i am sure Branden would not like it, after all debian
is still shipping 4.2.1 in sid.
