Help Me! I'm sinking...

Hi guys,

I'm new to linux,xWindows and this forum.  the thing is that I bought a system a couple of weeks ago. It runs two windows operating systems (ME and 2000) perfectly. the problem is the installation of linux 8.0 in my system. the screen goes blank when the setup program (Anaconda ) starts and system halts.

I searched hours in the web and finally reached you. when I gone thru the related threads, they were too technical for a newbee like me. could anyone give me a step-by-step instruction how to install Red Hat Linux 8.0 in my system?

My system configuration is:

Processor : AMD Athlon XP 1.7 GHz.

Motherboard: Asus A7N266-VM with nVidia 220D GeForce MX integreted North bridge chipset and nVidia nForce MCP-D integrated southbridge chipset

Monitor: LG.
