Well, I can tell you're eager and anxious to get going, but you need to 
take a breath and slow down.

I wish Linux was at the point where a few hours search on the web would 
solve any newbie's problem, but it's often not that easy.  Plus, you're 
posting on a list where such questions are off topic -- you're not 
likely to find people here who are inclined to help -- you need to look 
in some other places.

Go to http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Wikilearn/LugListingsAndInformation 
and follow some of the links to find a LUG (Linux User Group) somewhere 
near you.

Go to http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Wikilearn/LinuxResources and follow 
some of those links to find documentation suitable to your current 
level of knowlege.

One more thing -- before you post to a mail list, you should lurk (read 
messages without posting) for a few days or longer to get a sense of 
what the list is about.
