Problems playing DVDs with Neomagic MM256AV

I'm having trouble playing DVDs with MPlayer with my video card, although VCDs work fine in xine. I downloaded a new driver from mplayer's website which said that it'll make Xv work with the video which it did, but I think there's a bug in the code. Here's the error:

X11 error: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) 0.0% 0 0 37%

MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: flip_page

I read through the archives on the list and read that Shigehiro Nomura - and possibly others? - had made patches that fixed this error. I've tried the OverlayMem setting in XF86Config, but that didn't solve anything. I was wondering if somebody has compiled a binary driver that contains the fix and if they could attach it or give me a link. I really don't have the time to patch the source and recompile X. I appreciate any help, thanks in advance.
