Can you send those fonts along?  I suspect they have something amiss with 
their Unicode mapping.

Hmm.  Probably a clipping bug.  I haven't been running with this patch 
myself as I can't get KDE built with current XFree86.  I should go and 
download packages from somewhere, but it's nontrivial as no-one has 
bothered to build Debian packages.
