If you want to try out GNUstep, you will have to install GNUstep and a few apps. GNUstep is located at http://www.gnustep.org > Window Maker IS in my startup script. It looks like you didn't run the wmaker.inst script under your own account (not root). This will create the ~/GNUstep directory structure in your home dir, copy some config and menu files and set it as your default window manager. In order to use Window Maker, you might want to read all the documentation located here: http://www.windowmaker.org/documentation.html With regards to gnustep, you might want to read some of the docs here to get you started: http://www.gnustep.org/experience/documentation.html If you are new to the NeXTstep style interface, you might want to take a look at this primer: http://www120.pair.com/mccarthy/nextstep/intro.htmld/ Charles -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using the GPG bundle for GNUMail iD8DBQFCZVYb3epPyyKbwPYRAtoUAKCJZSZq5UoauNQPq4lcmuXXGpyewgCgnZHn zTNfd17wnvvlA+cTuTSnz2c= =qujX -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ INFO: https://windowmaker.org/lists/listinfo/wm-user ARCHIVE: https://windowmaker.org/lists/archive/wm-user/ FAQ: http://windowmaker.org/faq.html
