I've also noticed WindowMaker 0.9x seems to have some problems with
properly keeping track of application windows: I've configured xmms to
open in a specific workspace, but if that truely happens for all xmms
windows or some rather open in the current ws is completely
unpredictable and varies from exec to exec.

I think something along these lines has already been posted, for focus
problems in 0.91, but since I can't find a rhyme or reason for the
above described behaviour of xmms and didn't want to investigate deeper
I didn't post here so far. BTW.: I'm using the current debian sid
package:
  wmaker 0.91.0-7

SuSE 9.2 shipped wmaker 0.81.0

Could be unrelated of course.

P.S.: I happen to read your book "The AIX Survival Guide" currently and
wanted to thank you: so far in my reading you've managed to cover
exactly those topics in depth which I felt missing or not thoroughly
covered in the more generic "Æleen Frisch, Essential System
Administration", so your book is indeed a very useful source to me.
