Seams like you're in the RPM-hell. You probobly would get around this
problem with deps. by upgradeing to a newer RH or maybe Fedora. I don't
think that it will help to get your hands dirty resolving the deps. for
that package.

No question, upgrade. Atlest you will have security updates from RH,
IIRC RH has droped support for Red Hat Linux, or will do this year. The
former Red Hat Linux is now Fedora.
