I remedy that short coming by having a bunch of menu items that uses
wxpaste in a sub menu called "services". For example to open up
konqueror on the current x-selection or cut buffer:

kfmclient openURL '`wxpaste`'

However as much as I like the interface of wmcliphist- I don't use
it. This is due to the fact that wmcliphist can't harmonize the
x-selection and cut buffer. I use cutview instead:
