Hello Al:

To autostart a dockapp, right-click on the dockapp, choose Settings .
. ., and select 'Start when Window Maker is started'.  If the apps are
not in the dock, then start them from
GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/autostart by placing the same text on a
single line that you would use at the command line.  ie 'pclock'
without the quotes.

As for the 'broken' icon, my guess is you are looking at the 'default'
icon, and you can change it if you wish, via the Settings window
mentioned above.  With reference to the missing or clipped views, are
you using 64x64 Icon Size?   These miniapps/dockapps generally do not
scale well, so setting it to 48x48 could produce a similar affect.
WPrefs is where this setting is found, under Icon Preferences.  Just a
guess though.
