I am anexperience backpacker with more than 20 years of hiking, climbing, skiing andpaddling. I spend most weekends on day and overnight hikes and outdoorexcursions with at least one or two overnight trips each month. Although not asfrequent I try and get a few longer multi night trips in each year. I backpackmainly in the Canadian Rockies but have hiked and climbed throughout westernNorth America. I use my gear in a variety of outdoor sports including hiking,mountain scrambles’, mountaineering, ski touring, rock climbing, biking and forsearch and rescue. The gear that I enjoy using the most is well constructed,easy to use and is versatile.


TEST PLAN


 Well it is definitely winter out and baselayers are just what the winter weather is calling for.  With below freezing temperatures forecastedfor the next six months and a winter full of back country and cross country skiingon the horizon these base layers will get a great workout.  I will be looking at their ability to wickmoisture away from the body, how quickly it they dry, how much warmth theyprovide (when damp and dry), what temperatures they work the best in and howthey deal with body odor after a weekend of skiing.  Durability and comfort will also be a keyfactor in looking at this product.   This winter I typicallyget in about 15 to 25 days of skiing, mostly day trips but we have a few oneand two night trips planned this winter utilizing both huts and tents.  Temperatures range from –3 c (26 f) to –30 c (-22f) with lots and lots of snow!
