I have owned the Braven BRV-1 for the last 6 months and have taken in on my backpacking trips in the Cascade and Coastal mountain ranges of Oregon.Temperatures have ranged between 25 to 105 degrees F (-4 to 41 C) with at times heavy rain and heavy dew. I have found the speaker to be every bit as good and durable as advertised. It is small, lightweight and portable, super easy to use and durable. It is IPX7 certified waterproof (can be submerged at 1 meter for a half hour) and shock absorbant. It has a screw on cap the covers the ports in the back. I had it rained on and dropped multiple times and it kept going. The sound quality is good for it’s size. It has a nice 12 hour battery and has features such as being able to charge your cellphone and use as a speaker for your phone calls.
Summary
This is about as good of a Ultralight outdoors bluetooth speaker as I can imagine. It is compact, rugged and has a good battery life. I would recommend anyone to slip it in there pack for their next over nighter or outdoors social interaction.
