Backpacking Background: I started backpacking in 1995, about 21 years ago, mostly taking weekend trips and occasionally going out for a whole week.
I like my pack to be as light as possible, but I'm not an ultralight backpacker.
I have hiked forests, jungles, mountains, desert, plains and swamps. I have hiked/backpacked in Canada, USA, Mexico, Ireland and Germany.
Most of my backpacking these days is near to home in my adopted state of Ohio.
