Thanks, Don. Will probably run tests after Xmas and will be happy to report back. Patagonia silkweight looks like a candidate, but it seems not to be stocked too many places (maybe they're transitioning to a new one?), especially the non-stretch version. Specs show the non-stretch at a bit over 10 oz, vs. 6.4 for my silks, and the stretch pair over 14.  Trade-off, I guess - faster drying synthetic vs lighter weight of silk.
