Pressure Cookers

As Ken asks, "Enquiring minds want to know."  And, as Don asks, what do you cook?  Cara Lin pointed out that rice would be a good candidate for cooking.  Most of us would add potatoes or beans to that list, but add that dehydrated or instant are easier. I would like to add: What stove do you use? My personal favorite is to heat, not even boil, water and dump it into a foil bag with my pre-cooked and dehydrated food.  Also, I prefer solid fuel pellets, such as Esbit.  Used with a small thin aluminum or titanium pot, I might get enough hot water for my main meal plus a tepid cup of tea with a half Esbit in the summer.   A pressure cooker has to be thicker, therefore heavier, making Esbit cost-prohibitive for this application, IMHO.  Alcohol might not cut it, either.  White gas or a pressurized gas (propane/butane) may be needed to use a pressure cooker.  I have a small Hawkins at home (Can't check the size as I'm away.)  I would  MAYBE carry it in a group situation when others could carry the fuel and stove, etc., dividing the load.  I think I'd also want to be hiking into a base camp rather than hiking any distance.  In that case, I might use it with wood where possible and use it to sterilize water, not just cook.  Pressure cooking water would kill Giardia and cysts for sure. Please speak up if you have a pressure cooker worth the weight to carry and let us know how it is working out for you, what you cook in it, and what stove and fuel you use. Cheers! A while back there was a discussion on pressure cookers. I think someone 
decided to buy a Hawkins brand.
It may have been the 1.5 liter model. They have 2 models in that size.
 
How did that work out? Enquiring minds want to know.
Safety, weight, convenience, cleaning, etc.
