Depends on what you're cooking in it. If you're just boiling water, no. The coated pots do make it easier to clean up after you cook things like oatmeal in the pot though. So the question is one we can't answer for you, you have to decide for yourself if you're sufficiently annoyed by cleaning sticky stuff out of your pot to be willing to pay the extra ounce for the coated one. 

Personally, I just boil water, and avoid sticky things like oatmeal, so a coated pot isn't worth the extra ounce for me. But that's me.
