If you get a woman's stocking, cut it short enough to push the foot part into your dirty water bag, it'll serve as a prefilter so you don't need to worry a whole lot about back-flushing. There are other methods but that's the easiest one. I got the idea from someone else. JD Raleigh ***** Thanks. My wife doesn't wear those, I won't get one from the store, so I will probably never see one again. I always used a MSR pre-filter with the replaceable cartridge.
