When I carry it on 2-season trips in California and southern Oregon, I use it together with a GG Thinlight mattress (gossamergear.com/sleeping/1-8.html) for thermal insulation, under one of several different home-made Polarguard or Climashield quilts, or a down quilt (nunatakusa.com/site07/arc_products/arc_specialist.htm). When the route plan offers good opportunities for stealth camping, I don't carry it and instead use only a 3/8" closed-cell foam on carefully-chosen soft ground. If there was a down-filled version, I might use it for winter camping, in conjunction with a down coat and pants, and a 3-layer polarguard quilt.
