I like it for hikes where I'll be in highly impacted campsites, and not the Jardinian ideal of stealth camping on soft forest duff. When I carry it on 2-season trips in California and southern Oregon, I use it together with a GG Thinlight mattress [ http://gossamergear.com/sleeping/1-8.html ] for thermal insulation, under one of several different home-made Polarguard or Climashield quilts, or a down quilt [ http://nunatakusa.com/site07/arc_products/arc_specialist.htm ]. When the route plan offers good opportunities for stealth camping, I don't carry it and instead use only a 3/8" closed-cell foam on carefully-chosen soft ground. If there was a down-filled version, I might use it for winter camping, in conjunction with a down coat and pants, and a 3-layer polarguard quilt. But the one time I tried, I was glad to switch to a self-inflating open-cell foam air mattress I also carried to put over my closed-cell foam mattress, because the Klymit Inertia X-Frame, as you might expect, offers negligible R-value.
