Or whether there's a unit interpretation error. Pounds-kilos would be hard-pressed to give an 18 oz error for a 20 degree bag, but 3 15 as 3 lb 15 oz instead of 3.15 lb, for instance, gets you much of the way there. > Best, > Bill S. > > --- On Fri, 3/1/13, Roleigh Martin <marti124@...> wrote: > > From: Roleigh Martin <marti124@...> > Subject: Re: [BackpackingLight] Down Bag weigh gain > To: [email protected] > Date: Friday, March 1, 2013, 10:50 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > accumulated oil? > ------------------------------------------------- > Visit my Google Profile (lots of very interesting research links) > > > _ > > > > > On Thu, Feb 28, 2013 at 5:23 PM, Nelson <nelwat@...> wrote: > > > I have a TNF down 20 degree bag("Orion") about 15 years old. Have washed it twice, most recently 3-4 months ago. Curious, I weighed it and found it was about 18 ounces heavier than the original, listed weight; this was the first time I had ever weighed it. I have always worn clothes while using it.Thinking it might be moisture, I put it in a dryer it a week ago for about 45 minutes; the weight was unchanged. Can't quite figure this out. > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ > > BackpackingLight Mailing List > > To unsubscribe, send a blank message to: > > BackpackingLight-unsubscribe-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@public.gmane.org > > > > Post messages by E-mailing them to: > > [email protected] > > +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+Yahoo! Scale is not digital, an older mechanical scale and may be off a very small amount, but not much. Will try some more drying maybe, although the 45 minutes had no effect. And it could have been too heavy to begin with; just never weighed it until recently. Thanks for all of the ideas. Will repost if I ever find the answer. K.
